With our big move to L.A. to start dental school, we decided to start blogging. So . . . welcome!
We had moved in the beginning of the summer to James parents' house using just a suburban but because we bought a bunch of real (non D.I.) furniture during the summer, we gave in and rented a UHAUL for the day. We were glad we did.

Our list of purchased items includes: a dining room table and chairs, a couch (James' favorite), a coffee table and two end tables, an armoire (my favorite), a decorative table, 2 decorative chairs, a bookcase, and a NEW TV (James' close second favorite). We found some great deals and are really excited to start using all of our furniture. A big thanks to James' parents who let us keep it in their house for a few months-- the tv room had 3 couches in it!
So now we're in West L.A. trying to fit in. It's a definite change from the "Happy Valley" (Provo) and it's going to take some definite getting used to (I am still trying to avoid parallel parking at all costs!). So, after we got semi-settled in to our apartment, we thought we would find our new Walmart and buy some things from a place that we knew we were comfortabe at. WRONG! It took us forever to find the place and then it turned out that the Walmart is inside of a mall in a ghetto part of L.A. (USC territory)! In the parking lot there were two very nice Cadillacs with their trunks open and a bunch of people around doing something. We didn't ask. Then we made it to Walmart and it turned out to be three floors of chaos. James practiced his Spanish at the checkout and we went home to hide. Needless to say, James says I can't go there by myself ever again.
So, we're still in the process of moving in. Here's a picture of the mess but we'll post some more pictures of our cute, little apartment soon.
